The Exhibition
Cartier at Prague Castle – The Power of Style
The exhibition featuring over 368 exceptional and historical jewels, timepieces, and luxury objects created by the Maison Cartier will be held in the Riding Hall of The Prague Castle from July 9 until October 17, 2010.
The Prague Castle thus joins the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the British Museum of London, and other famous exhibition venues in Paris (Le Petit Palais), Berlin (Vitra Design Museum), Moscow (the Kremlin Museums), Tokyo (The National Museum) or most recently Beijing (The Palace Museum in the heart of the Forbidden City), and becomes the next place where the visitors from all over the world will be able to discover 163 years of Cartier’s creations.
The Cartier exhibitions curated by these prestigious cultural institutions have been very successful. I am extremely honored of the collaboration with the Prague Castle which will give the citizens of the Czech Republic, as well as the visitors of the largest castle estate in the world, the opportunity to admire more than 368 objects reflecting the evolution of Cartier style and know-how
says Pierre Rainero, Cartier Heritage Director.
The exhibition will allow the visitors to get an incredible insight of the royal jeweler’s treasures through a fascinating and inspiring journey. It will present the influences that lead to the creation of the works of art, along with original archives and biographical stories about their prestigious owners.
Our mission is to bring to Prague the most sought after exhibitions in the world. The Prague Castle is the perfect venue for this worldwide acclaimed collection. Staging it in our premises will add mystic and enchantment to the entire experience
mentions Ivo Velíšek, Director of the Prague Castle Administration.
